Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) is learnt to have moved the Election Commission of India ahead of the assembly polls in Maharashtra, seeking to register itself as a distinct political party under the Representation of the People Act, 1951 so that it can accept donations ahead of elections.
