Over 12 tons narcotics seized in Istanbul in first six months of 2024: governor

ISTANBUL, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Over 12 tons of narcotics were seized in Türkiye's Istanbul, in operations conducted during the first six months of this year, the governor said on Thursday.

In a press briefing, Istanbul Governor Davut Gul emphasized the ongoing efforts to combat drugs and substance abuse in the metropolis, home to 16 million people.

Gul added that security forces conducted nearly 5,000
