June 13, 2024: Billy Ray requests a temporary restraining order to keep Firerose from accessing his money, claiming she racked up nearly $97,000 on his credit cards between May 23 and June 7. Firerose’s lawyers hit back that the situation is “no emergency” and she was simply living “as per the status quo during the marriage,” claming she’s had access to his cards since June 2022.
June 14, 2024: In a new filing, Firerose alleges she “was the victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse” during her marriage to Billy Ray. Her lawyers add that Billy Ray’s “persistent drug use” and marijuana consumption made him “unpredictable and volatile.” She says Billy Ray filed for divorce just one day before she was slated to have a preventative double mastectomy surgery. Firerose claims that ahead of the surgery, Billy Ray “would often call her a ‘selfish fucking bitch’ and continually allege that she was using him.” She says she had to delay the surgery “indefinitely” without Billy Ray’s health insurance. She also claims Billy Ray attempted to thwart her career by forcing her to fire their shared manager, causing her to lose $415,000. On Instagram, Billy Ray shares a note from Johnny Cash, writing, “I made a promise to myself not to look back and only look forward.” Meanwhile, a Miley source tells Us that “no one approved of the marriage” in their family, adding that she thinks the divorce will bring “some peace.” The source continues, “She thinks this is a good step in the right direction for him.”
June 19, 2024: Responding to Firerose’s claims, Billy Ray accuses Firerose of hiding a past marriage from him in a new filing. He claims Firerose told him her last name was Hodges, but it was not, and that his attorneys later unearthed her past divorce, which prompted him to file for divorce. He also accuses Firerose of “conducting a campaign to isolate” him from his family, and specifically blocking one of his daughters on his phone. A Billy Ray source tells People Firerose “isn’t the person he thought he married.” The source accuses her of using him financially, but adds that they have a prenup.
June 24, 2024: Billy Ray now claims he was abused by Firerose in a new filing — “not only verbally and emotionally by [Firerose], but PHYSICALLY abused.” Billy Ray’s manager, Scott Adkins, says in an affidavit that he witnessed the abuse. A rep for Firerose tells TMZ Adkins’s “credibility is questionable” as an employee of Billy Ray. “What Billy Ray fails to recognize is when you have a decades-long history of emotional and psychological abuse, people start to take notice,” the rep says. “The truth will come to light.”
