One of the most significant non-original Air Jordan sneakers is returning to retail in a matter of weeks.
The rerelease of the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Olympic” has been rumored for months, and now official Nike e-commerce images have surfaced. The shoe features a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme — “White/Varsity Red/Midnight Navy” to be precise — and is re-emerging with details not seen since the sneaker’s first release. The “Olympic” Air Jordan 6 features a mix of tumbled and smooth leathers in white and navy blue with red accents appearing only on the Jumpman branding.

First launched in 2000 to coincide with the Sydney Summer Olympics, this Air Jordan 6 colorway wasn’t worn on court by Michael Jordan, but instead by the likes of Team USA’s Ray Allen and Vin Baker. The style would then take a hiatus until the London 2012 Summer Olympics, where it returned with a few small changes.

The round shoelaces of the ’00 iteration were replaced with flat laces on the ’12 release, and the midsole of the latter pair was updated with additional navy blue piping. In addition to these retros, the “Olympic” colorway was used on an Air Jordan 6 Low Golf release in October 2023. The latest version of the sneaker will see it revert to the details of the ’00 pair.
The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics will run from July 26 through August 11, putting the expected release date for this Air Jordan 6 Retro a little over a week ahead of the closing ceremonies. In related news, Nike will also launch its first-ever breakdancing shoes during the 2024 Olympics.
The latest leaks indicate that the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Olympic” will launch on August 3 from Nike’s SNKRS app and select Jordan Brand stockists for an expected retail price of $200. Be sure to check back for any updates in the coming weeks and find a detailed look at the shoes below.
