Boca Juniors president concerned about losing £11m player amid Spurs interest
Pasion Futbol have claimed that Boca Juniors are concerned about losing their starlet Kevin Zenon after Tottenham and other clubs entered the race for the midfielder over recent days.
Who is Boca Juniors’ Kevin Zenon?
Zenon has won many admirers since swapping Union Santa Fe for Boca at the start of this year, with the versatile wing-back now being backed to make a switch to Europe.
A few days ago, Boca Noticias became the first outlet to credit Tottenham with an interest in the 23-year-old, explaining that the Lilywhites had made contact to ask about the player’s availability.
Spurs’ interest in Zenon has now been backed up by Pasion Futbol, who say that the wide-man has caught the attention of a number of clubs, including the Lilywhites, over recent weeks.
It is asserted that Ange Postecoglou’s men have now ‘decided to join the fight’ for the Argentina Under-23 international, but they are not the only Premier League side to do so, with Newcastle also on his trail.
Boca Juniors are worried about Spurs interest
The report claims that Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme is aware the player ‘can leave’ for England and that he ‘can lose’ his talisman soon.
The publication adds that neither Spurs nor the Magpies would have any trouble meeting Zenon’s $15m (£11.4m) release clause.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham need a natural backup to Destiny Udogie and Zenon seems like a player who has the characteristics to play as an inverted full-back.
One can understand why the Spurs recruitment team are keeping an eye on the Argentine.
