Video: Bissouma films himself reacting to Brennan Johnson’s late Spurs winner
Yves Bissouma posts a video of himself cheering on Tottenham from home as Brennan Johnson’s last-minute goal booked Spurs’ place in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
Bissouma is currently sidelined through injury
Ange Postecoglou controversially made eight changes to his side against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, handing starting debuts to Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray whilst Yves Bissouma remains sidelined through injury.
The 28-year-old suffered a groin injury on international duty with Mali, ruling the midfielder out of the North London derby, although Postecoglou confirmed that the injury isn’t deemed to be a significant one. (Evening Standard)
However, Bissouma remained out of contention for Spurs’ trip to Coventry in the Carabao Cup with Postecoglou confirming: “He’s [Bissouma] not where we want him to be [in his recovery] but hopefully there’s still a chance [he’ll be available] for the weekend”. (Tottenham Hotspur)
This left Bissouma to nervously watch his team on from home, with Van De Ven and Romero also omitted from Spurs’ matchday squad.
Bissouma filmed himself celebrating Spurs’ late winner
Despite Tottenham being on the back foot for the majority of their League Cup tie with Coventry, two late goals from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson turned the game on its head giving Spurs fans a win to suddenly celebrate.
Yves Bissouma very much undertook the role of a Spurs fan of the night as the midfielder posted himself on Instagram shouting and celebrating just moments after Brennan Johnson guided his winner past the Coventry goalkeeper.
Bissouma posted the video with the words “love you boys” accompanied by shouts of “vamos!” and “goalazo!”.
Spurs Web opinion
It’s nice to see in a moment where Spurs aren’t quite getting their desired results and under pressure that the team are clearly still sticking together and are a close group, as shown by Bissouma’s video and Son making sure Brennan Johnson receives his plaudits from Spurs fans after the game.
The hope now is that Bissouma comes back fit and firing when he returns from injury and and enjoy some equally as delirious celebrations on the pitch.
