Indian model and actress Urvashi Rautela has always been in the eye of the storm when it comes to cricketer Rishabh Pant. The Indian wicketkeeper was making his comeback into Test cricket after almost two years and no wonder social media was abuzz about what Urvashi Rautela felt about it.
However, in an interview to a TV channel, Urvashi Rautela on Thursday doused all ‘rumours’ on her links to Pant. The Delhi Capitals captain scored 39 in the first innings of the first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Thursday (September 19).
“Regarding the persistent rumours linking me with RP (Rishabh Pant), I want to clarify that these memes, rumours are unfounded. I prefer to keep my personal life private. My focus remains on my career and the work I am passionate about. It’s important to address such matters with transparency and to concentrate on the truth rather than speculation. I don’t understand why meme material pages get super excited,” Rautela said about her links to Rishabh Pant to NDTV.
The actress elaborated on the challenges of dealing with constant scrutiny and unfounded rumours. “Dealing with constant scrutiny and unfounded rumours about my personal life can be challenging. I handle it by focusing on how I can control my work and my personal growth. I choose to address rumours with clarity and honesty while maintaining my privacy and not letting speculation distract me from my career. Surrounding myself with supportive people and staying grounded in my values helps me manage the pressure and stay focused on my goals,” she said.
Urvashi earlier this year was once again in the limelight earlier this year when she appeared in an advertisement for a matrimonial brand where she made a statement, “Kuch log toh meri height ke bhi nahi hai,” while referring to actors, businessmen, singers and cricketers.
The video soon went viral and users on social media linked it to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. “Behen aab usko chor de plz game mein concentrate karne lafda matt kar abhi (Sister, now leave him, please let him concentrate on the game now),” one user commented on social media.
Meanwhile, Pant scored 39 off 52 balls on Day 1 of 1st Test vs Bangladesh and put on 62 runs for the 4th wicket with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored 56 after India had lost 3 wickets early. The stumper was dismissed, caught behind by Litton Das off pacer Hasan Mahmud.
