Fournier Fever Is Catching!

Duke’s high-flying freshman is going to be special

Caitlin Clark has set the bar very high for women’s basketball. She’s playing on a different level than any other woman ever has and has, in less than a full season, revolutionized the game and the WNBA.

It’s an amazing accomplishment and comparing anyone else to Clark is frankly a bit nuts at this point, least of all a college freshman.

Still, it’s a great compliment for Duke freshman Toby Fournier that this article does that, and as great as Clark is, she can’t do what Fournier can do: she can dunk. And not just dunk - she can pull off an alley-oop.

She’s got a ways to go to catch up to Clark, but her leaping ability is going to put people in the stands, at Duke and beyond. Watching her develop is going to be a lot of fun.

Here’s a day dream: Fournier ends up with the Indiana Fever in a few years and Clark starts drilling alley-oops to her. Wouldn’t that be fun!
