Halle Bailey Wears Tiny Bikini to Recreate Iconic Halle Berry Role

The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey got into the Halloween spirit this week with an eye-popping costume that pays tribute to her name twin, Halle Berry. And it goes without saying that the 24-year-old wears it well.

Bailey gave fans a look at her costume in an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon, in which she wore a tiny orange bikini and utility belt with a knife to dress up as Berry's iconic role in the 2002 James Bond movie, Die Another Day. Berry starred in the film as Giacinta "Jinx" Johnson, an NSA agent and "Bond girl" who becomes involved with Pierce Brosnan's titular character.

Though, it could be argued that Bailey's outfit was perhaps even skimpier than that of her role model, as you can see in the side-by-side images superimposed next to images of Berry's character. "Halleween 2024," Bailey cheekily captioned the post, along with a smiling face with hearts emoji and jack-o-lantern.

For her part, Berry paid tribute to one of her own roles with her costume this year, dressing up with a sexy witch with a live feline prop, in a nod to her 2004 superhero film Catwoman.

But despite their similar names and contrary to popular misconception, Bailey and Berry have no relation to one another, as the young star explained during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark last year.

"Well my family, we've always loved Halle Berry. I mean, she's amazing," Bailey said at the time, via People, when asked if her parents "contemplated" the similarity when naming her. "And originally when I was a baby, they wanted to name me Hailey but my last name is Bailey. So that wouldn't have worked."

"And they they ultimately decided Halle, and it's very similar to Halle Berry. But there's no one else I would rather have a similar name to cause she's so cool," she added.

It's clear that the well of admiration certainly continues to run deep.
