Gemfields and Eshli Fine Jewellery launch Zambian emeralds collection
Gemfields has collaborated with Eshli Fine Jewellery to launch a Zambian emeralds jewellery range and demonstrate a shared commitment to responsible mining practices.
The Eshli Fine Jewelry x Gemfields collection features the Evil Eye Pendant which boasts a recognisable evil eye motif, while the Emerald Open Shank Ring features an open shank design.
Additionally, The Pear Shaped Emerald and Diamond Drop Earrings form part of the Mid-Level Fine Jewellery range; and the Art Deco Style Emerald Ring to Cushion Emerald Drop Earrings are part of the top-tier ‘High End’ selection.
Based in New York, Eshli crafts jewellery at three price points, using mine-to-market emeralds sourced from the Kagem mine in Zambia, majority-owned by Gemfields.
Zambian emeralds are amongst the oldest on Earth, dating back some 500 million years. They are noted for their “intense” green colour, owing to the presence of chromium, iron and beryllium in their crystal structure and are often lacking in vanadium.
Liran Eshed, founder of Eshli Fine Jewellery, said: “This partnership [with Gemfields] allows us to offer our customers emeralds with a vibrant green hue and remarkable clarity, making each piece a true work of art.”
Emily Dungey, marketing and communications director at Gemfields, added: “Eshli not only has an exceptional eye for fine gems, it also boasts a creative flair that brings each to life. Carefully chosen cuts add sparkle and depth, and the verdant greens simply sing.”
