Tottenham Hotspur’s season is veering dangerously off track, with their latest defeat to Bournemouth marking their sixth Premier League loss in just 14 games.
The Vitality Stadium clash saw Spurs on the back foot for much of the game, as Bournemouth dominated proceedings, carving out numerous chances but failing to convert most of them.
Despite the narrow 1-0 scoreline, it could have been a far more comprehensive victory for the Cherries had their finishing been more clinical.
The situation took a turn for the worse in the 62nd minute when Davies pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

The injury to Ben Davies has further compounded Tottenham’s defensive crisis, leaving Postecoglou with even fewer options ahead of a tough run of festive fixtures.
Speaking to football.london after the game, the Spurs boss provided an update on Davies’ condition, saying: “Yeah it looked like he’s done his hamstring. He and Radu have had to play every game and it is a consequence of having the squad we do. It looks like he’ll be out for a while now.”
Tottenham have one fully fit central defender ahead of Chelsea
The loss of Davies means Tottenham are now without three of their top defensive options, with Romero and van de Ven still recovering from their respective injuries, leaving Radu Dragusin as the only fit senior central defender.
This has forced Postecoglou to potentially consider less experienced players, such as Archie Gray, to step up in their absence.
The timing could not be worse, as Spurs face a crucial showdown against Chelsea in their next Premier League outing. Given Chelsea’s recent resurgence in form, the prospect of relying on an inexperienced backline is far from ideal.
Tottenham’s defensive frailties have already been exploited in recent games, and the thought of facing Chelsea’s dynamic attack without their key defenders will be a significant concern for Postecoglou and his coaching staff.
