Japanese Baseball5 Championship starts January 13
Tachikawa, a city located in the western portion of the Tokyo Metropolis, will host on Monday, January 13, the Japanese Baseball5 National Championship. The second Samurai Japan Challenge Cup is co-organized by the Baseball Federation of Japan (BFJ) and the Japan Softball Association (JSA) and sponsored by Samurai Japan.
Eight team will compete for the title in the open or adult category and eight teams will participate in the youth category.
The eight teams participating in the adult tournament qualified through three tournaments involving 26 teams, held at Nagoya Gakuin University (Central Japan), Ajec Sports Science Centre (Kanto), and Kumamoto University (West Japan) in November and December 2024.
Ten teams participated in the youth tournament qualifier at Kisai General Gymnasium on December 8, 2024.
The Baseball5 Japan site will stream the event live.
Junk 5 won the inaugural edition in February 2024.
