Bulawayo-based creative group Asante Mo is steadily gaining traction in the capital, Harare, as their dynamic performances continue to captivate audiences and expand their brand.
Following the successful launch of their production Indandanda: The Power of Percussion last week at Theatre in the Park, the group is set to return to the same venue this Friday for another electrifying showcase.
The production celebrates the infectious energy of African rhythms, delivering a captivating blend of music, percussion, and dance that underscores the richness of Zimbabwean culture. Inspired by South Africa’s renowned Black Motion, Asante Mo’s performance merges live deejaying with powerful percussion and choreographed movement, creating an immersive and high-energy experience.
Despite its intimate setting, last week’s performance was a resounding celebration of artistic expression that deeply resonated with attendees.
The group comprises Newman Trindad, Bekithemba Phiri, Aaron DJ Beast, Native DJ, and Makhosi Mlotshwa, a talented ensemble committed to redefining live music experiences through traditional and modern fusion.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming performance, group member Newman said: “We’re excited to return to Harare by public demand. It’s a sign that our work is being appreciated, and it motivates us to continue pushing boundaries. This is a great opportunity for us to grow our brand beyond Zimbabwe.”
“We invite everyone in Harare to come out in numbers and witness this unique experience,” he added. – Follow updates on X: @mthabisi_mthire
