0

Three Government Ministers visited the home of national hero Cde Luke Mushore, to pay their condolences ahead of his burial at the National Heroes Acre on Monday.

They were Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Cde Kazembe Kazembe, Zanu PF Politburo member and Minister of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Senator Monica Mavhunga and Minister of State for Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs and Devolution Christopher Magomo.

Cde Mushore, who died on June 13, was among the early freedom fighters, having joined the liberation struggle in 1972 and was revered for his steadfast commitment both during and after the war.

Minister Magomo said Cde Mushore made an immense contribution to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle and post-independence development.

“After the war, he remained steadfastly loyal to the ruling party and rose through the ranks to become the Zanu PF provincial chairperson,” said Minister Magomo.

“He also played an active role in land reform, empowering local communities. He was more than a farmer. He was a generous leader, a mentor and a unifier. His ability to bring people together earned him great respect, and it was this legacy that led the provincial leadership to recommend him for national hero status.”
