Benson Boone Has a Sweet New Collab—But There’s a Catch
Benson Boone’s latest collaboration is super sweet, but it comes with a quick expiration date. Days after the singer dropped his new album, American Heart, he teamed up with Crumbl for a cookie inspired by the single “Mystical Magical.” Fans will only have six days to snag one.
Per a teaser from Crumbl for the week of June 23-28. “This menu is mystical, magical…BENSON BOONE’S MOONBEAM ICE CREAM COOKIE (NEW) A mystical, magical chilled chocolate cookie packed with cookies & cream pieces, crowned with vibrant moonbeam ice cream-inspired lemon, berry, and marshmallow toppings, and finished with a sweet white drizzle and a final sprinkle of cookies & cream.”
The nod comes from a lyric in “Mystical Magical” in which the backflipping, 22-year-old singer references “moonbeam ice cream.”
Fans are having quite the reaction to Boone’s cookie collab.
“Gonna backflip in the store when I get my paws on this,” one commenter wrote on Instagram
“My two worlds collided,” another wrote.
Boone shared a preview of the cookie on the day of his album drop. On June 20, the singer rode on the TMZ Tour Bus and handed out boxes of Crumbl to fans, per TMZ.
As for where that “moonbeam ice cream” line came from, Boone appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed his songwriting partner, Jack LaFrantz, came up with it after a lengthy brainstorming session.
“It looked like he was gonna say something really good, and we’ve been sitting there for an hour … and he goes, ‘moonbeam ice cream taking off your blue jeans,’” Boone recalled. “It was a placeholder for the day. And then we went home and listened to it, and I was like, ‘You know what? Moonbeam ice cream.”
“Ben and Jerry’s hasn’t responded,” Boone cracked.
But Crumbl has.
