RCB pacer Yash Dayal faces sexual harassment charges just weeks after IPL 2025 victory: Report
Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal has reportedly been booked for sexual harassment after a woman from Ghaziabad accused him of mental and physical exploitation under the false pretext of marriage. The complaint was lodged a few days ago, and the police have since registered an FIR against the star cricketer under BNS Section 69.
The woman said she had been in a relationship with Yash Dayal and alleged that he misled her with a promise of marriage, only to exploit her emotionally and physically. She had submitted her complaint last month through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal, seeking justice.
As per a report by The Indian Express, police have filed a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual relations established under false promises. Ghaziabad Deputy Commissioner of Police, Patil Nimish Dasharath, stated that Yash Dayal has recorded his statement, and the investigation is currently underway.
“We have registered a case under BNS Section 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including a false promise of marriage) against him and are probing further,” Dasharath was quoted as saying by the Indian daily.
In her complaint filed last month, the woman alleged that Yash Dayal took money from her during their relationship. She also claimed that he had behaved similarly with other women in the past. As evidence, she submitted chat messages, screenshots, video call recordings, and photographs to support her claims of the relationship and the alleged abuse.
So far, neither Yash Dayal nor his team has issued an official statement regarding the matter. Hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Dayal represents the state team in domestic cricket. In the IPL, he previously played two seasons with Gujarat Titans before joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He was part of the RCB squad that clinched the IPL 2025 title.
