Baerbock presidency at UN sparks global criticism
Annalena Baerbock’s election as President of the UN General Assembly has provoked widespread criticism. Her public defence of Israeli military operations in Gaza, past political conduct, and integrity controversies have prompted protests, academic condemnation, and political opposition.
During her tenure as German Foreign Minister, Baerbock consistently supported Israel’s actions in Gaza, repeating statements about Israel’s “right to self-defence” despite reports of extensive civilian deaths and infrastructure damage.
