Astronomer Releases Official Statement on Andy Byron Cheating Scandal
After a video went viral that allegedly shows an affair between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and chief people officer Kristin Cabot, the company has released a statement on the matter.
The alleged affair between Byron and Cabot was caught on the kiss cam at a Coldplay concert recently and has set off a firestorm on social media in the aftermath.
Astronomer has now addressed the situation in a statement posted to social media on Friday afternoon.
"Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding," the statement read. "Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.
"The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly," the post added.

The company also confirmed that the smiling woman next to Cabot and Byron in the viral video was not Alyssa Stoddard, who is Astronomer's vice president of human resources.
In addition, Astronomer also confirmed that a statement floating around social media is not from the company's CEO.
"Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect," the statement said.
While Astronomer has broken its silence on the matter, we are still waiting on a statement from both Byron and Cabot.
