McDonald's Getting Common Complaint Over Beloved Menu Item
There's nothing like a good McDonald's McFlurry on a hot summer day. That is, unless you get one that isn't prepared properly.
The McFlurry is a popular dessert item at McDonald's that has ice cream with whatever toppings the restaurant has. The toppings are supposed to be mixed into the ice cream, though.
However, some McDonald's customers are noticing a trend with their McFlurry: They aren't being mixed.
"I just got an Oreo McFlurry and it was just vanilla soft serve with Oreo crumbles on top," Reddit user ProfessionalEmu3266 wrote. "I know they switched their cups and are no longer using the mixing spoons, but did they really stop mixing them all together?"
Another Reddit user, TheWhiteHorse19, shared a photo of what McDonald's customers are experiencing.
Not cool.
"When did it become acceptable if McFlurries just had stuff on top instead of mixed throughout?" another Reddit user, ThingCalledLight, asked.
One commenter credited the lack of mixing to McDonald's getting rid of the plastic spoon that used to come with the McFlurry, along with the employees not wanting to clean the mixing machine itself.

"About when they got rid of the plastic mixing spoon. The employees don't like cleaning the machine every flurry and even when they had the old machine they were usually half spun as is," the user said.
One McDonald's employee in the comments said workers don't mix the McFlurries anymore because "it's quicker and there's less mess."
Another employee in the replies said that sometimes the mixer simply isn't working, although they noted that they will still use a spoon to mix it instead of sending it out unmixed.
It's bad enough that McDonald's cut out the cup and the spoon, but not having the McFlurry mixed makes things even worse.
