Inter wait for Fenerbahce offer for Calhanoglu
Inter wait for a formal Fenerbahçe offer for Hakan Çalhanoğlu, who is expected to resume training with the Nerazzurri this week.
Inter are still awaiting a formal bid for their midfield star, Hakan Calhanoglu, who has attracted interest from Galatasaray and, more recently, Fenerbahçe.
La Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that neither of the Turkish giants has yet made an opening proposal for the Turkey captain.
Inter wait for official Calhanoglu offers
Inter have set the minimum asking price at €25m but are unsure whether Galatasaray or Fenerbahçe will meet their demands.
Gazzetta confirms that Calhanoglu will be assessed by Inter doctors tomorrow, Tuesday, July 22, before returning to the training pitch on Wednesday.
If Inter don’t receive an offer in the coming hours, Calhanoglu will resume training with the rest of the team this week and start preparations for the 2025-26 season.
Gazzetta insists that Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka is Cristian Chivu’s primary option to potentially replace Calhanoglu, who remains under contract at San Siro until June 2027.
What Ausilio said about Calhanoglu
Speaking about Calhanoglu’s future last week, Inter director Piero Ausilio said: “He never asked us to leave. It is part of the dynamics of the transfer market to read stories like that, but Inter have no intention of depriving themselves of a champion of that calibre.
“We even had a meeting with Galatasaray, but we immediately realised it was not going to happen. I have to be honest, Calhanoglu never asked to leave Inter, and that is worth reiterating.”
