In the 2006 Mumbai train blasts case, twelve individuals were acquitted, facing charges of belonging to the banned SIMI. The ATS alleged some received terror training in Pakistan. Those sentenced to life imprisonment were convicted for roles including attending terror camps, running hawala rackets, assembling bombs, procuring timers, and conducting reconnaissance of trains.
