Kristin Cabot Married Into Wealthy Boston Family Worth Millions
Before she was captured in a viral Coldplay concert video in an embrace with then-CEO Andy Byron, Kristin Cabot married into a famous Boston family worth millions.
Andrew Cabot is the CEO of a company called Privateer Rum, which builds on the Cabot family history and lore, as there was another Andrew Cabot who was a well-known privateer during the Revolutionary War.
The current state of Kristin and Andrew Cabot's marriage is not known; property records tie them together through home purchases. Byron has resigned his CEO job from Astronomer. Cabot has maintained public silence as has Andrew Cabot; Privateer Rum did not return a request for comment.
According to the New York Post, the Cabot family that Kristin Cabot married into is "one of the oldest and wealthiest families in Boston." The Post confirmed that Andrew Cabot is her husband with property records and social media reports, including a photo showing Kristin Cabot wearing a wedding ring while standing with Andrew Cabot.
Although the net worths of the Cabots (and of Andy Byron) are not clear, Kristin and Andrew Cabot "purchased a $2.2 million two-story, four-bedroom home together just five months ago," Page Six reported.
A 1972 article in the New York Times is simply titled "The Cabots of Boston."
"The Cabots of Boston, who are so socially impeccable that according to a locally popular verse they speak only to God, sit atop one of New England's largest inherited fortunes, estimated at more than $200‐million," the Times reported.
The Post noted that this amount would be $15.4 billion in 2025.
"The Cabots have lived in New England for 10 generations, but the bulk of their fortune has been piled up in the last 90 years, and from a most unlikely source —soot, or more politely, carbon black," the Times article continues.
Andrew Cabot's net worth and share of that storied fortune is not clear, however.
The 1972 article explained, "There are three Cabots with important roles in Boston's business and financial circles, all descended from Samuel Cabot, who started the original fortune in 1812 by marrying Eliza Perkins, the daughter of a rich merchant trader."
They were listed as Louis W. Cabot, Paul C. Cabot and Samuel Cabot.
"The Cabot family is one of the original “Boston Brahmin” clans that controlled New England for centuries," the Post reported.
Kristin Cabot was previously married to a man named Kenneth Thornby.
Andrew L. Cabot has deleted his LinkedIn page. She has as well. When live, it stated that she was on the advisory board for Privateer Rum.
