Dustin Poirier ends career in New Orleans

New Orleans, La. (KLFY) - Lafayette native Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier main evented UFC 318.

In his final fight, Poirier faced Max Holloway for the BMF belt.

The first round saw Poirier getting knocked down but recovering to finish the round.

In the second round, Poirier had a furious rally, almost ending the fight by submitting Holloway.

The fight went the full five rounds and was decided by the judges' scorecard.

In the end, the judges ruled unanimously that Holloway was the winner, thus retaining his BMF belt.

Poirier finishes his career with 39 wins and 10 losses.
