The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes sure to stay on top and notify people whenever a recall is put into place.

Recently, a large recall of Power Stick deodorants was announced by the FDA.

Over the weekend, a massive recall of ice cream bars was also announced

The recall was for Rich Ice Cream Company, which is located in West Palm Beach, Florida, with the FDA saying it was for "Potential Listeria Monocytogenes Contamination."

In total, there are 110,292 units with 10 different products included, but this recall is active in 23 states across the US.

These are labeled as Class II classification, and these are all the states involved.

  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Louisiana
  • Massachusetts
  • Missouri
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Virginia
  • Wisconsin

Recalls were also issued in Nassau and the Bahamas, so this is a large one being sent out.

Various products received this recall, including chocolate crunch cake, strawberry shortcake, crumbled cookie, orange cream, watermelon and fudge frenzy, all of which are ice cream bars, among plenty of others.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website (CDC), Listeria is the third most common food-borne illness in the United States.

It is also "especially harmful for some people," including older adults, people with weak immune systems, and pregnant women.

The initial recall was issued on June 27 and given a Class II classification by the FDA on July 17.
