Pepsi Makes History With Innovative New Drink
Although Pepsi has been quenching thirsts for well over a century, the soda brand is gearing up for a launch that would be a first for the company. And it's a huge first, at that.
In an announcement made today (July 21), Pepsi revealed that it will be launching Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, the first-ever prebiotic cola in the traditional cola category. The bubbly, new beverage includes 5 grams of cane sugar, has 30 calories and contains no artificial sweeteners. It also includes 3 grams of prebiotic fiber.
And if you love variety, Pepsi has you covered. Pepsi Prebiotic Cola will be available in both the original cola flavor and a cherry vanilla flavor.

"From the iconic blue can, to the consumer-preferred Pepsi Zero Sugar, our portfolio has always adapted to the needs and flavor preferences of the consumer," said Ram Krishnan, CEO, PepsiCo Beverages U.S., in a statement. "Pepsi Prebiotic Cola represents the next leap forward in giving consumers choice, optionality and functional ingredients in their cola experience, without sacrificing the iconic Pepsi taste we're known for delivering. We can't wait for the world to try the taste of Pepsi Prebiotic Cola for themselves!"
Pepsi Prebiotic Cola will be available in 12 ounce single cans for trial and 8-packs of 12 ounce cans. You'll be able to find the new offering online this fall and at retail stores in early 2026.
