Micah Parsons Turns Heads With Reaction To J.J. Watt Calling Out Jerry Jones
The Dallas Cowboys and superstar linebacker Micah Parsons are trying to hammer out a contract extension that will almost certainly make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
While that's going on, owner and general manager Jerry Jones decided to insert foot into mouth by—intentionally or not—taking a dig at his star player.
Jones met with the media and decided to point out that Parsons missed six games because of injury last season while discussing his contract situation.
"Just because we sign [Micah Parsons], it doesn't mean we're going to have him. He missed six games last year," Jones said, per RJ Ochoa of Blogging The Boys.
Fact check: Parsons missed four games in 2024, but we digress.
After seeing Jones' comment, former NFL star J.J. Watt took to X to shred Jones for the comment, and Parsons showed his displeasure with Jones' comment by reposting Watt's post.
"Anytime you can publicly take a dig at your star quarterback and your star pass rusher simultaneously, right before the season begins, you just gotta take it," Watt said. "Nothing makes guys want to fight for you more than hearing how upset you are that they got hurt while fighting for you."

The last thing Jones should be doing is upsetting his best player, especially in the middle of contract negotiations, but nobody should be surprised at Jones' blunder with what we know about him.
Parsons immediately exploded into a star upon arriving in the NFL, and he is widely considered one of the best players in the sport, regardless of position.
As a result, he's expected to hit the trifecta on his inevitable extension and should be the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history when it comes to annual average, guaranteed money and total value.
