UPDATE, 9:43 P.M.: Fire officials determined that an improperly discarded cigarette ignited combustible material in one of the columns at the restaurant. Officials found several cigarette butts in the area.

The other columns were examined for signs of improperly discarded cigarettes. Officials confirmed that it is a common practice by patrons entering the restaurant to place their smoldering cigarettes on the edge of the columns. The cause of the fire was ruled an accident.

Officials said the fire was extinguished within twenty minutes, however, the interior of the business sustained smoke damage. As a result, the business will be closed until repairs are complete.
