Two Israeli Rights Groups Accuse Israel of Gaza Genocide
Two Israeli rights groups, B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights–Israel, accused Israel of genocide in Gaza, alleging deliberate destruction of Palestinian society, with over 60,000 people killed.
Reuters reported on Wednesday, July 30, that two prominent Israeli human rights groups , B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights–Israel, have accused Israeli authorities of committing genocide in Gaza.
In a press conference held in Jerusalem on Monday, the organizations presented reports alleging that Israel is deliberately and systematically working to destroy Palestinian society in the enclave.
Israeli officials swiftly rejected the allegations, labeling them “antisemitic” and insisting the claims were unfounded.
Sarit Michaeli, B’Tselem’s international director, acknowledged that the groups anticipated backlash but said they had taken steps to protect staff and minimize risks before going public.
She emphasized that all potential dangers were carefully assessed and precautions were put in place to safeguard those involved in compiling and releasing the reports.
The accusations come as Israel’s campaign in Gaza enters its 691st day, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting more than 60,000 deaths, including over 18,500 children.
Human rights advocates say the staggering civilian toll and intensifying criticism highlight the urgent need for accountability and stronger international efforts to halt further devastation.
