McDonald’s Launching Nostalgic New McDonaldland Meal On August 12
With McDonald's fresh off celebrating the return of its wildly popular Snack Wraps, a menu item fans had been just about begging the fast-food chain to bring back, a new meal loaded with nostalgia is right around the corner.
Bringing back fan favorites and dropping surprise menu additions has more or less become the theme in the battle amongst the fast-food giants as of late, so this news should hardly come as a surprise.
McDonald’s New McDonaldland Meal Marks Latest Menu Addition
Beginning on Tuesday, August 12, the Golden Arches will be releasing a new McDonaldland Meal that is all about serving nostalgia to its customers, featuring some collectables and a limited-time milkshake, too.
The new meal will come with the choice of either a Quarter Pounder with cheese or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, along with fries and "a pastel blue and pink Mt. McDonaldland Shake."

Perhaps the best part of the new milkshake rollout is that, beyond the above description, McDonald's has purposely held back on revealing specifics of the flavor, only saying, "it's a secret concoction as enchanting as the [McDonaldland] world itself."
In addition to the interesting milkshake mystery, each McDonaldland meal will include a collectible tin—one of six different tin designs based on classic McDonald's characters from the past—with postcards, stickers, and other various souvenirs inside.
"Over the past few years we’ve seen how fans flock to our characters, everyone from Grimace to the Hamburglar. But many, especially the new generation, don't know that's just the tip of the iceberg," said Jennifer Healan, McDonald’s VP of U.S. Marketing. "And so, for the first time in decades we are taking fans on a trip to McDonaldland with an immersive experience that taps into the past to create the future."
The new McDonaldland Meal will be available beginning on Tuesday, August 12, and will stick around as long as supplies last.
Now, if one's interest in the McDonaldland Meal only happens to sit with the allure of the "blue lava" and "pink clouds" of the Mt. McDonaldland Shake, the chain has apparently recommended that customers simply "talk to a member of the crew at your McDonald’s location and they’ll be able to accommodate the request."
