Troy's annual Pig Out returning August 17

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The 19th annual Troy Pig Out is set for August 17 from noon to 5 p.m. throughout Downtown Troy. The event features BBQ samples, live music and both a hot dog eating and BBQ competition.

According to the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District, the food competition will feature something for everyone, from ribs to tacos.

"We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Pig Out on August 17th, one of Troy’s signature
summer events," said Mayor Carmella Mantello. "This is a great chance to show off our
incredible small businesses, their mouthwatering BBQ, and so much more. Come out, eat up,
and celebrate all things, Troy!"

After sampling, attendees can vote for their favorite barbecue in the city.

"The Pig Out is one of our most anticipated events of the year, and we’re thrilled to showcase
the talent, flavors, and creativity that make Downtown Troy such a special place," said Olivia
Clemente, Executive Director of the Downtown Troy BID. "This event is about more than just
great food, it’s about bringing our community together and celebrating the heart of our
businesses in Troy."

There will be two rounds of the hot dog eating contest at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the main stage at 5th and Broadway. Live music featured at Pig Out include Berkstar, Legacy and The Albany Rock Pit Showcase Band.
