Costco’s ‘Overpriced’ Bar Fridge Has the Internet in a Frenzy
There's nothing that elevates your kitchen or home bar quite like your very own bar fridge. It's great for storing all those cold beers for game day or ensuring that you're never without a nicely chilled bottle of sparkling wine. With that being said, there's a particular bar fridge available at Costco that's receiving quite a lot of heat from shoppers.
The bar fridge in question is the GE Cafe Beverage Center, and a Reddit thread about the appliance has received nearly 200 comments from customers. The (mildly hilarious) frenzy began when the original poster shared a photo of the bar fridge. In the photo, which was shot at an angle, you can see that the price is $200.
But in the second photo, which was shot directly in front of the fridge, you can see that the "1" was hidden in the initial photo, and the price is actually $1,200.
"$200 for a bar fridge? Don’t mind if I do… Oh, never mind," the original poster wrote.
Dozens of people were shocked at the steep price tag and they didn't hesitate in sharing their upset.

"These things are such a joke. They put a glass door on a Mini fridge and try to charge 2-4X more," one person wrote.
"Bruh. $1,200 for a drink fridge is nuts. Home Depot has something that looks a lot like that for under $300. I'm just waiting for the current mini fridge to die before getting one," read another comment.
One person in the comments, an actual GE Cafe Beverage Center owner, had only positive things to say about the fridge.

"I have this. Bought from Costco a few years ago. Works flawless, looks great, all sensors and apps work too. Yes it’s expensive but oh well," they wrote.
On the plus side, countless Redditors have now been introduced to the money-saving world of second-hand mini fridges thanks to several insightful comments.
"I just picked one up for $35 at a garage sale. It’s in my truck right now," one Redditor shared.
"Picked up a used wine cooler at a garage sale. Same thing. Cost me $20," another person chimed in.
