Taylor Swift's Directorial Debut Movie Gets a Major Update, Almost Three Years After Initial News
It was announced almost three years ago that Taylor Swift will be making her directorial debut on a feature film and now there’s finally a new update.
The 35-year-old entertainer is working with Searchlight Pictures to produce her upcoming movie, based on an original script that she wrote.
While Taylor already has directorial experience from her music videos, this will be her first time directing a feature-length movie.

The Insneider is reporting that Taylor has brought on screenwriter Alice Birch to help revise the script before the movie goes into production.
The outlet reports that “Birch is working closely with Swift and ‘tailoring’ the project to her creative vision.”
Alice is an award-winning British playwright who is best known for co-writing the Hulu series Normal People, creating the Prime Video series Dead Ringers, and co-writing the upcoming movie Die My Love starring Jennifer Lawrence.
When the movie was announced in 2022, Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield shared in a statement, “Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”
