Severe delays hit Northern line after Tube track fault
Travel on the London Underground has been disrupted this morning due to a series of issues, including a fire alarm and broken tracks.
The Northern line has severe delays on the entire line after an earlier track fault at Golders Green.
Passengers can use tickets on buses, Southeastern and South Western Railway services.
The Bakerloo line is also reporting severe delays on the entire line due to train cancellations, the latest TfL travel status update shows, while the Jubilee line has minor delays.
Earlier, travellers heading to Heathrow Airport this morning were unable to use the Elizabeth line to get to the terminals after a fire alarm meant one of the terminal stations had to be evacuated.
The line reopened between Heathrow Terminals T2 and T3 and Terminal 4 after station staff and the emergency crews investigated the issue.
On the railways, passengers face severe delays and cancellations on the route between Bedford and London St Pancras International after overhead wires were damaged in Radlett.
This has blocked some lines towards London, with issues expected to last until the end of the day, National Rail warned.
People travelling on the East Midlands Railway should brace for up to 60-minute delays and cancellations as fewer trains can run to and from St Pancras.
One train per hour will run between St Pancras and Nottingham and Sheffield.
It comes after commuters were caught in travel disruption yesterday after a points failure wreaked havoc on the Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines.
There is some good news for the Tube too – the new Piccadilly line trains are being tested on the tracks to get them ready for passenger service.
