‘The Costly picks will be overseas player…’: This player of CSK predicted the most expensive buy in IPL 2026 mini-auction
the big player of the Chennai Super Kings made a big statement about the mini-auction of IPL 2026 and also stated who will be the costliest purchases of the upcoming season of the IPL.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has ended, where some players showcased their potential and presented their skills and love for the game. Royal Challengers Bengaluru made history after winning the tournament for the first time in 18 years. However, the most successful franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), finished at the bottom of the table.
Former Indian legend and current star of Chennai Super Kings, Ravichandran Ashwin is in most of the talks after speculation of him leaving or trading the franchise. He made a big statement about the mini-auction of IPL 2026, and he also added who will be the costliest player of the upcoming season.
Ravichandran Ashwin predicted that overseas players will be in more demand than Indian players in the mini-auction of the IPL 2026 on his Youtube channel ‘Ash ki Baat‘. “This will be a mini auction where you’ll find it tough to get Indian players. Maybe only new players will come. The costly picks will be overseas players” Ashwin said on his Youtube channel ‘Ash ki Baat‘
He also added about the availability of the Australian players in the IPL mini-auction 2026, and they will be more favorites of the team than Indian players. “A franchise releasing a big Indian player is a very risky formula. So many Australian players will come in the auction,” he added.
Ravichandran Ashwin named the two important and big Australia players who might get a good amount in the mini-auction of the IPL 2026. “You’ve got Mitchell Owen, who was a replacement player for three games for Punjab Kings. Then you’ve got someone like Cameron Green coming into the auction. They’ll go at a big price because they are foreign all-rounders,” he added. Ashwin also added that “The mini-auction will be a game of Rs 25-30 crore for all teams,”
Ravichandran Ashwin also named an Indian player who might get a good amount in the mini-auction of the IPL 2026. The player is Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) player Mayank Yadav. He was retained by LSG for Rs 11 crore.
