There’s a whole lot going on in the superhero/supervillain television world currently. As the fifth and final season of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Boys has finished filming, fans are awaiting word on the official debut date. There’s also the return of one spin-off, Gen V, which is set for a Season 2 premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Last but certainly not least is The Boys spin-off, Vought Rising, which stars two of the series' original names, Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) and Aya Cash (Stormfront/Clara Vought). While there's no official release date set for Vought Rising yet, it's expected to debut in late 2026 or early 2027.
'The Boys' Star Soldier Boy Unveils New Look for 'Vought Rising'
The highly anticipated Vought Rising will bring several new characters as headliners of the series, but the return of Soldier Boy and Stormfront is noteworthy. On Thursday, Aug. 14, The Boys' X account released first looks at a few characters, including a modified look for Soldier Boy.
Once upon a time, these four were as American as apple pie. Say hello to the supes of VOUGHT RISING - a new origin story set in the world of The Boys - in production this month.

While Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles, has featured a few looks throughout The Boys, his mask is an alteration to the full-head helmet he initially debuted. Along with that, the addition of a green jacket is a unique aspect of the look.
Among the other characters whose looks were revealed, the list included Mason Dye as Bombsight, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel and Will Hochman as Torpedo.
'Vought Rising' Storyline Details
The upcoming release from Amazon Prime Video is a prequel to The Boys. This will feature Vought Rising going back to the early days of Vought International, essentially giving fans a look at how the entire supervillain and Compound V serum aspect of The Boys began.
As TV Insider revealed, a statement released by executive producer Eric Kripke and showrunner Paul Grellong offered a bit of insight into Vought Rising.
“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”
Fans can expect a similar feel, in some ways, to The Boys, with Kripke back as the executive producer for Vought Rising.
