BINDURA South legislator, Cde Remigious Matangira, has made a commitment to establish a new vocational training school in Bindura.
Recently, he established another vocational training centre, which is set to open shortly, using his own funds, demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.
Speaking during the Heroes Day commemorations at Nyava Business Centre, which drew hundreds of attendees, Cde Matangira underscored the importance of education in driving progress.
He passionately advocated for the promotion of “Education 5.0”, a progressive educational framework designed to align academic institutions with community needs and national development goals.
Cde Matangira stated that education empowerment is the key to success.
“Let’s keep on working together. Education is the cornerstone of our future, and we must equip our communities with the skills they need to succeed,” he said.
“People receive agricultural inputs every year to combat hunger, but we must also remember that education is just as crucial. We must uphold our President’s vision and the spirit of sovereignty in Zimbabwe.”
He further elaborated on the need for collaboration among local leaders, urging them to join forces in building vocational training centres.
“I envision a future where our youth are not only educated but are also skilled enough to create jobs for themselves and others,” he said.
“Let’s build schools to promote education 5.0, which emphasises innovation and practical skills. I want to build another school, but I face a significant hurdle: I have no land to do so. This is a challenge we must overcome together.”
Cde Matangira’s vision extends beyond mere infrastructure; he seeks to create opportunities for the majority of the population.
“We want to see our communities thrive, where individuals can depend on their skills rather than solely on external assistance. Let’s unite the efforts of Bindura South and North to make this vision a reality,” he said
His heartfelt remarks resonated with the crowd, inspiring a shared commitment to educational advancement and community development.
By emphasising the need for vocational training, Cde Matangira is not only addressing immediate challenges but also laying the groundwork for a sustainable future.
Cde Matangira also reiterated the importance of collective effort in achieving these goals.
“Together, we can change lives and create a brighter future for the next generation,” Cde Matangira said.
“Let us not forget that the strength of our nation lies in the hands of its people. It is our duty as leaders to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to succeed.”
Through this initiative, Cde Matangira aims to ignite a movement of empowerment, urging all leaders to prioritise education as a vehicle for progress and community resilience.
