Fortum warns of reduced power output after quarterly profit drops
Finnish utility company Fortum has warned of lower electricity generation for the rest of 2025 after reporting a larger-than-expected fall in second-quarter profit.
Comparable operating profit fell to €115 million between April and June, down from €233 million in the same period last year. Analysts surveyed by the company had forecast €133 million.
Shares in Fortum dropped by 3.4 percent in early trading, hitting their lowest level in three months.
