Finland’s “bluebird of song,” Katri Helena, has closed the curtain on a career spanning more than six decades with a sold-out farewell concert at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium, just one day before her 80th birthday.
The legendary singer, who has released 52 albums and sold 1.5 million records, took the stage on Saturday night to the roar of tens of thousands of fans. She opened with her signature ballad Katson sineen taivaan, prompting the audience to sing along in unison.
