According to Perrie, her first miscarriage happened “very early” in her pregnancy, leading to some confusion when she went to her doctor for an appointment.
“I remember going in to see my gynecologist with the reports and I was like, ‘Can you just explain to me? So, there was no baby?’” Perrie recalled on the podcast episode. “He was like, ‘No, no, no, my darling. You’ve had a miscarriage.’”
Perrie revealed that her second miscarriage happened during Little Mix’s last tour. She said that she was regularly bleeding before going out on stage, saying, “I was thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, I can’t cancel the show. I have to go out. I have to put a brave face on; I have to keep my s— together. Hopefully it’s just the blood clot.’”
Perrie said that at her 24-week scan, she could tell something was wrong with the baby, calling the appointment the “worst day of [her] life.”
“I think when you’re fully carrying and you’re 24 weeks, and you’ve planned out their room and all these things, it’s really hard,” Perrie shared.
Between her two miscarriages, Perrie gave birth to her son, Axel.
“When you birth something that’s just half of you and half of them, it’s like, this magical being, isn’t it?” Perrie said, calling motherhood the “best feeling in the world.”
