June Squibb Sets Broadway Return at 96, Will Star in 'Marjorie Prime' Play with Cynthia Nixon & More!

June Squibb is making her return to Broadway at the age of 96!

After celebrating her 96th birthday in early November 2025, the Oscar-nominated actress will play the title role in the play Marjorie Prime on Broadway.

June will star opposite two-time Tony winner Cynthia Nixon, Tony winner Danny Burstein, and Christopher Lowell.

Marjorie Prime, written by Jordan Harrison and directed by Anne Kauffman, was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize.

Here’s the synopsis: “What would you say to someone you lost, if you could see them again? What if they’re a better listener now than when they were alive? A heart-achingly beautiful rumination on aging and artificial intelligence, memory and mortality, love and legacy, MARJORIE PRIME examines the blurred line between a life lived and a life remembered.”

June made her Broadway debut in 1960 in the original production of Gypsy, playing the role of Electra opposite the legendary Ethel Merman. She most recently appeared in the musical Waitress for a limited run in 2018.

Preview performances begin on November 20 ahead of opening night on December 8. Tickets are on sale now!
