New fast-food restaurant will be Topeka-themed
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new fast-food chain restaurant is set to add more than just new dining opportunities for Topeka once it opens next year.
A new Raising Cane's fast-food restaurant is under construction in west Topeka at the site of the former Steak 'n Shake located at 1415 Southwest Wanamaker Road. The new restaurant is currently set to open its doors in early 2026 and start serving Topekans with its signature chicken finger meals.
27 News asked Raising Cane's how it will impact the local job market as well. Company spokesperson Greer Martin said that around 100 to 140 crew members will be hired at this location, giving locals some new job opportunities to choose from.
Martin said the new restaurant will also be adding some personal touches to it before it opens to the public next year. The thought behind this is to make the new Raising Cane's a little more Topeka-themed for its customers.
"Each of our Restaurants is carefully designed with the local Community in mind and our Topeka Restaurant will be no different," Martin said. "We curate a thoughtful collection of vintage relics of local high schools to keepsakes paying homage to some of the area’s most notable faces that hang in Restaurant’s dining room creating a treasure trove of local historic touches for our Customers to admire while dining in. We’ll host an array of can’t-miss celebrations for the Community on opening day and look forward to serving the Topeka Community our one-of-a-kind Chicken Finger Meals for the first time very soon."
