'I’m very good at grass': Trump baffles with bizarre landscaping rant
President Donald Trump drew attention Thursday evening after delivering an unusual set of remarks while speaking to Washington D.C. law enforcement officials, prompting a flurry of reactions on social media questioning his mental acuity.
While discussing plans to improve public parks, Trump veered into a meandering commentary on his expertise in landscaping, stating, “We’ll be redoing the parks. I’m very good at grass because I have golf courses all over the place. I know more about grass than any human being, I think anywhere in the world.”
He added: “It will look like Trump National golf club. We are going to have all brand-new, beautiful grass. Like everything else, grass has a life. We have a life and grass has a life.”
The comments, which quickly went viral, were met with a mix of amusement, confusion, and concern online. Critics pointed to the remarks as the latest in a series of off-script statements that have raised questions.
“Just what we want — for our national parks to look like one of his f------ golf courses,” wrote Democratic influencer Joanne Carducci.
“Whoever is listening to this and smiling should be put before a tribunal. Human rights are being grossly violated,” wrote user Sara Dillon.
“Says the guy who just plowed under the rose garden to make a picnic table parking lot,” wrote Brian Mistrot, president of a nonprofit.
