Americans are screening for colorectal cancer earlier than ever before and the trend is taking shape as the number of early-stage colorectal cancer cases skyrocketed with a relative increase of 50% from 2021 to 2022. TODAY’s Craig Melvin sits down with Haleema Burton who shares her story of how getting a colonoscopy at 45 helped doctors detect her cancer so early that they did not need to perform invasive surgery or chemotherapy.
