The Supreme Court rejected a plea by retired IPS officer Param Vir Rathee. Rathee challenged a High Court order. The High Court had quashed the summoning of Abhay Singh Chautala. Chautala is the Indian National Lok Dal chief. Rathee filed a defamation case against Chautala in 2008. The court found no malicious intent in Chautala's statements.
