Man killed in crash on DuSable Lake Shore Drive on North Side

A motorist who drove into oncoming traffic was killed in a crash Tuesday night on DuSable Lake Shore Drive on the North Side.

Around 8:30 p.m., a man behind the wheel of a gray SUV was driving north in the 4500 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive when he drove into the southbound lanes and hit a black SUV, Chicago police said.

The driver of the gray SUV, a 53-year-old man, was taken to the Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the black SUV, a 68-year-old man, was also taken to Illinois Masonic for evaluation and was in good condition, officials said.

The Major Accidents Unit was investigating.
