New eatery opens its doors in Stillwater
STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- There's now a new eatery, catering and meal prep spot in Stillwater. Big Tony's Kitchen on the River had its soft opening on September 16 in the old Stillwater Wood building at 726 Hudson Avenue.
Owners Amy and Anthony Schunk started the business in February 2023 as Big Tony’s Meal Prep, providing a meal prep service out of the Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks Lodge. The Schunks said they haven't operated out of the Elks Lodge in over a year and now run everything out of the Hudson Avenue space.
Big Tony's Kitchen on the River serves breakfast sandwiches, French toast, fries, chicken tenders, hot dogs, burgers, salads and more. They'll be debuting the full menu with their grand opening in about two weeks.
"We are super excited to have our new kitchen with an eat in area," said the Schunks. "Stillwater needed something like this in the community since the last time they had something like this was years ago, other than the three pizza places."
In May 2024, the Schunks took over the concession stand at Moreau Lake State Park. As a Memorial Day to Labor Day seasonal venture, Big Tony’s at the Lake serves burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and tenders, fries, mozzarella sticks, nachos, and other snacks.
Big Tony's Kitchen on the River is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. with their limited menu. The hours will expand to 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on these days when the full menu is launched.
