Zoe Saldaña Shares Rare Photos of Her Mini-Me Sons in a Milestone Cultural Moment

Kids might learn about their culture in school, but sometimes, the best lessons are taught through real-world experience. That’s why Zoe Saldaña and husband Marco Perego brought their three sons on a milestone vacation. And the rare new photos they shared show just how amazing (and educational!) the whirlwind getaway was.

The Avatar star brought her twins Cy and Bowie, 10, and son Zen, 8, to The Vatican, where they admired the historic artwork, caught a gorgeous sunset, and more. “Masterpieces- inside and out ????️” Saldaña captioned the post.

Later, she posted a picture of her family meeting the Pope! “Pope Leone XIV,” she captioned the post. The first picture is a black-and-white photo of the Pope smiling at the family of five. Saldaña smiles in a black collared dress next to her kids, who look like her mini-mes in black suit jackets over white t-shirts. With their long hair and big smiles, it’s clear that these kids take after their famous mom.

Saldaña’s Italian-American husband also wore a suit, with his long hair tucked behind his ears as he greets the Pope. The second photo is in color and features a sweet moment with Saldaña and the Pope shaking hands.

It’s clear these parents are prioritizing teaching kids about their history and culture firsthand, and it is so cool to see.

In a previous interview with SheKnows, Saldaña talked about the quality time she spends with her. “When it comes to rituals and interactions that we can do together, I will do it,” she said. “It gives us the opportunity to play these games with them … you know, interact, as opposed to just granting them this time and monitoring it. We’re right in the trenches with them playing the game, and it’s become a family event for us.”
