The US State Department’s 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report has urged Pakistan to bring defence and intelligence budgets under parliamentary or civilian oversight to improve accountability, Dawn reported. It also recommended timely publication of budget proposals and fuller debt disclosure, while noting progress in public access to budget data and audit independence.
