WATCH: Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s hook shot for a massive six against AUS U-19 goes viral
New Delhi: This is young Indian batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi‘s first tour of Australia, and he caught everyone’s attention in his very first innings. Suryavanshi made a strong start in the first match of the ODI series between the Indian and Australian Under-19 teams in Brisbane.
Four on the first ball, and then the bat started to work
Vaibhav made his intentions clear by hitting a four on the very first ball of the Indian innings. He then batted aggressively, hitting a total of six fours and one six. Thus, he impressed everyone by hitting a total of eight boundaries (fours and six).
38 runs in just 22 balls, India reaches 50
Thanks to Suryavanshi’s quick innings, India crossed the 50-run mark in the first 30 balls. Suryavanshi alone scored 38 of this score, and that too in 22 balls, at a strike rate of over 172.
Both openers returned to the pavilion at 50
Australia batted first and scored 225 runs. Chasing the target, India got off to a flying start, but lost both openers – Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre – just as the score reached 50. Ayush was dismissed for 6 off 10 balls.
