William Shatner Breaks Silence Amid Death Concerns

He doesn't believe in the no-win scenario! The original James T. Kirk, and hero to many, William Shatner, has not died. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles for troubling blood sugar levels, Shatner has appeared to recover. So much so, he has taken to Instagram to joke about rumors of his apparent death.

"I overindulged," Shatner wrote in a caption to an Instagram post which pictured him, with a mustache, seemingly dressed as a Theodore Roosevelt-esque figure. Why this photo? Why not. It's Shatner, the same man who has sung many, many absurd versions of famous songs, including a halting, spoken-word version of Elton John's "Rocket Man" and Pulp's "Common People." In general, Shatner is hilarious and extremely bold for a man his age. (Don't forget, this is the same guy who, back in 2021, became the oldest person to go into space, ever.)

"I thank you all for caring, but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!" Shatner added.

William Shatner's latest projects

In 2025, Shatner announced that his latest book is a unique project called William Shatner...and You. Coauthored with Joshua Brandon, this book will incorporate stories from fans who have been specifically impacted by Shatner in their lives, according to People. The book is expected to be published in late 2026, around the exact time for the 60th anniversary of the first episode of Star Trek.
